Post Bridgestone tires
The BoD has agreed to follow the lead of WKA. The Brodgestone YHC is discontinued and will be replace with the YKC. The new YKC will be permitted to run at MSOKC after 7/1/09. The YHC will be allowed to run the rest of the year.

The availablity of the YHC is limited. If you need tires to run before 7/1/09 I would suggest you get them NOW! Suppliers like Max Speed Karting are doing their best to have enough supply to get their customers thru 7/1 and not get stuck with additional inventory after that. Again I suggest you plan acordingly and get the tires you need now to get you thru 7/1. Max Speed Karting will have the new tires at the same price as the YHC in 2 weeks.

Is it the Brodgestone being replaced or the Bridgestone being replaced?
Cause I have both.

I think the Brodgestones might be Chinese knock off's of the actual Bridgestones YHC's, not 100% sure though

Bob how soon can you get us these Brodgestones you are talking about. Is there any data out there or has there been tire tests done on these new Brodgestones. I have never heard of them. Will you have to get them from Europe? If it is going to take awile I will just keep running my Bridgestones. Unless these new tires that you speak of are faster.

I'm sorry. Brodgestone is the new square tire. The factory is owned and operated by Fred Flinestone.

Do we know how these YKC's compare to the YHC's? are they softer/faster? The same?

Found this on an ekarting news forum...

The YKC is a great tire. It will be around .5 seconds than a YHC. The YKC is a lot closer in construction to a YKB. The balance is a little different too. There will be more front grip compared to the YHC and the rears take a little bit longer to come in than the fronts. I would say around 12 psi hot is about where you want the tire pressure hot.

The YKC promises to be more competitive in events and series
that allow multiple make 'SL' tires. Bridgestone has worked hard to improve not only performance and durability but also consistency over multiple heat cycles. Early indications are that they have been very successful.
